Article summary

Our primary objective revolves around the comprehensive testing of all labs by our dedicated team before they are deployed. Historically, our audit log has primarily concentrated on end-to-end testing, inadvertently neglecting a crucial aspect—the meticulous validation configuration and subsequent testing of labs. To address this gap, we are pleased to unveil a novel addition within the Template Audit Log: the "Lab Validation Checklist." This innovative segment empowers us to methodically ensure that the team has adeptly executed validation testing and configuration for every individual template.

Configuring the Lab Validation Checklist

  1. Navigate to the Template Audit section inside the Template and click on the "+ADD" button as shown below:

  1. In the drop-down corresponding to Event Type, select "Lab Test."

  1. Expand the End to End verification testing as shown below.

  1. As shown below, ODL can be selected from the drop-down menu. Once the ODL is selected, the required Deployment ID can also be selected from the drop-down menu, as shown in the screenshot.

  1. The Lab Validation section supports four values: i. NA: This means Lab Validation is not configured for this template. ii. Configured: This means that Lab Validation is configured for this template. iii. Failed: This means that the Lab Validation is configured, but end-to-end testing of Validation steps has failed. iv. Successful: This means that the configuration and testing were successful.

  2. Once the Deployment ID is selected, the status under the Lab Validation section will automatically change. If there is any validation error, the Red Warning icon will appear, as shown below.

  1. To gain a comprehensive understanding of the warning, simply click on the red warning icon. This action will enable you to access detailed information regarding the issue encountered.

  1. In the case of a successful lab validation, the Lab Validation status will be promptly updated to "Successful", as demonstrated below.
