Article summary

Overview

A Lab Cluster is a set of modules or multiple labs that work together and can be viewed as a single workshop. The Labs within the cluster are usually connected to each other and can be used either in a single day or each module in a day as per the learner's requirement. If a user wants to use one module in a day then he can register for that module and keep the remaining modules to register for the next day as per their requirement. This document has step by step instructions on how to create a Lab Cluster from the CloudLabs admin portal.

  1. Navigate to https://admin.cloudlabs.ai/ and Login to the Admin Centre or follow this detailed guide click here

  2. Select your Tenant.

  3. Click on Lab Cluster Labs from the left navigation pane.

  4. Click on + ADD and fill up the required information.

This document has been divided into 2 sections, each section covering the respective options on the underlined screenshot. The fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory fields.

Section 1:

  • *Title: Please key in a relevant title for the lab cluster.

  • * Description: You can give a brief description of the cluster.

  • *Tags: Tags help you add keywords to your ODL, generally useful to identify the ODL and are displayed in the registration page as well

  • *Status: Select the appropriate Registration/Activation status for your cluster.

  • *Approval: Select how would you like to approve the requests.

  • *Expiry Date: Enter the expiry date for the cluster

  • *Contact Email: Email ID entered here will be receiving all the communications and notifications for the cluster.

  • Maximum number of users: Number of users who can access the cluster.

Tip: Keep the expected attendee count with 2 extra, if the expected attendee count is 8 then keep 10

Section 2:

  • Maximum Retake Count: Maximum number of times an email ID can be used to register for the ODL. (default is 0).

  • Lab Code: Use a code as an internal identifier; this code will also be concatenated in the name of the user Resource Group. As an example, if you use the code demolab, you'll be able to tell that the template is about a demo lab. The user's Resource Group will be named ODL-demolab-xxxxxx, where demolab is a lab code, ODL is the default prefix, and xxxxx is the CloudLabs-assigned user unique ID.

  • Purchase Order#: This field can be used to mention the purchase order number. It is helpful in scenarios where you wish to create internal reporting specifying the order number (usually where you have multiple Clusters)

  • Default Language: The environment can be enabled in either of the listed languages.

  • Maximum Number of On Demand Labs Supported: You can define the maximum number of ODLs that be combined for this cluster.

Once your Lab Cluster creation is successful, it will show up under the lab Cluster section of the https://admin.cloudlabs.ai/ portal as below:
